How Much Does Hypnotherapy Cost in Miami?
By Alex Guldbeck, Certified Hypnotherapist (CHt). Thirteen years in practice, Miami Beach and online. Last reviewed October 2026.
Short answer: Published guides put most hypnotherapy sessions in the United States between about $75 and $300, with many between $100 and $200, and major metro areas toward the top of that range. Many Miami practitioners do not publish their prices, so you often have to ask. My own work is priced differently: one two-hour live session costs $497 and includes a preparation call, with a full refund if we decide on that call that we are not the right fit.
I wrote this page because I could not find a straight answer to this question myself. Below is what the published guides say, what actually drives the price, and exactly what I charge and why.
What the published guides say
These figures are national. None of them is specific to Miami, and none of them is a scientific survey.
- TherapyExplained, 2026 pricing guide (August 2026): $75 to $300 per session is the typical range. Certified hypnotherapists without a mental health license charge $75 to $175, licensed clinicians with hypnotherapy training charge $100 to $200, and psychologists and psychiatrists charge $175 to $300. Major metros run $200 to $350 per hour, and online sessions average 15 to 25 percent less.
- TherapyCostGuide (published March 2026, updated June 2026): A typical session in most U.S. markets costs $100 to $150. Certified hypnotherapists charge $75 to $175, licensed clinicians using hypnosis charge $120 to $250, and online sessions run $60 to $150.
- Mike Mandel Hypnosis (2023, based on interviews with hypnotherapists): Sessions range from $100 to $1,997, and packages range from $350 for two sessions to $5,000 for six. The article says there is "no fixed or standard price."
What affects the price
- License. A psychologist or other licensed clinician who uses hypnosis can sometimes bill insurance as part of covered clinical care, and usually charges more per hour. A certified hypnotherapist like me offers non-medical personal-growth work, does not bill insurance, and does not diagnose or work with medical or mental health conditions.
- Session length. Most sessions run 60 to 90 minutes. Longer sessions cost more in total but are not always more expensive per hour.
- Single session or package. Many practitioners sell three to six sessions as a package. The per-session price drops, and the total commitment rises.
- What you are coming in for. Habit work, such as quitting smoking, is often sold as a short program. Deep inner work is harder to put on a schedule.
- Experience and approach. A scripted session read from a book is a different service from a custom session built around you. The price usually reflects that difference.
- In person or online. Online sessions often cost a little less elsewhere. I charge the same for both, because the work is the same.
What I charge, exactly
- Clarity call: free. A short call for general questions about hypnosis and whether it suits you. Book a free clarity call
- The 10-Minute Reset: free. A recorded guided hypnosis session for creative block, sent to your email.
- Release Your Inner Genius: The First Step: $47. Three recorded guided journeys and a companion workbook, with a 30-day no-questions refund.
- The Way Through: $97. Eight deeper recorded journeys about finishing your work.
- A Custom Guided Meditation: $197. A recording made for you alone.
- A Live Deep Session: $497. Two hours of live hypnosis with me, in person in Miami Beach or online, with a preparation call included.
How the $497 session works. You reserve first. Then we have a short preparation call. It isn't a sales call; it is the two of us making sure it is the right fit and that I understand what you are bringing in. Then we schedule the two hours. If we are not right for each other on that call, you get a full refund.
Spread across the two hours, that is about $250 an hour, with the preparation call on top. That puts it at the upper end of the national range per hour, and below what many practitioners charge for a three- to six-session package in total.
Why one deep session instead of a package
Most hypnotherapists sell packages, and for some goals that is the right model. Habit change, for example, often benefits from repetition.
My work is built differently. I don't script my sessions. I listen for the phrase you keep using about the problem, build the session from it, and go into the inner journey alongside you. The work does not add anything to you or take anything away. It changes your relationship with something that was already inside you. Once that relationship has changed, it keeps developing on its own, so you don't need to keep coming back to be repaired.
That is why the case histories on this site end with the same line: no further sessions were required. Those are individual stories, not promises, and it is also why I would rather sell you one session I can stand behind than a package you feel obliged to finish.
This does not mean one session is right for everyone. If you need ongoing support, or if what you are dealing with is a medical or mental health condition, a licensed clinician who sees you regularly is the better fit, and I will tell you so on the preparation call.
What this price does not cover
- I am not a licensed mental health professional, and hypnosis with me is not medical or psychological care. If you are dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, an eating disorder, addiction or any health condition, please work with a licensed clinician.
- I don't bill insurance, and you should not assume an HSA or FSA will reimburse the session.
- I can't promise a particular result. What I can promise is a careful preparation call, two full hours of my attention, and an honest answer about whether this is the right work for you.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a hypnotherapy session cost in Miami?
Published national guides put most sessions between about $75 and $300, with many between $100 and $200, and major metros toward the top. Many Miami practitioners don't publish their fees, so you often need to ask. My two-hour live session in Miami Beach or online is $497, including a preparation call.
Does insurance cover hypnotherapy in Florida?
Sometimes, when a licensed clinician uses hypnosis as part of covered clinical care. A certified hypnotherapist who is not a licensed clinician usually can't bill insurance. My sessions are non-medical personal-growth work, and I don't bill insurance.
Why is a single session $497 when others charge $100 to $150?
My session is two hours rather than one, it is built around you rather than read from a script, and it includes a preparation call. It is designed as one deep session rather than the first of a package, so the total is often less than a three- to six-session package elsewhere.
Is there a refund?
You reserve, then we have a short preparation call. If we decide on that call that we are not the right fit, you get a full refund.
Do I need more than one session?
Some people find one deep session is enough for what they came in with, and some return later for something else. I can't promise that one session will be enough for you, and I will say so honestly on the preparation call if I think you need ongoing support instead.
Is online hypnotherapy cheaper?
It often is elsewhere; guides report online sessions averaging 15 to 25 percent less. I charge the same $497 for online and in-person sessions, because the work is the same.
